Newark Christian Fellowship has been formed as a fellowship of believers in the Lordship of Jesus Christ. Our Supreme desire is to know Jesus and to be conformed into His image by the power of the Holy Spirit. we are not denominational church, nor are we opposed to denominations as such, only their over-emphasis of the doctrinal differences that have led to the division of the Body of Christ.
We believe that the only true basis of Christian Fellowship is His (Agape) love that is greater than any differences we possess and without which we have no right to claim ourselves Christians.
We believe: Worship of God should be Spiritual.
Therefore: We remain flexible and yield to the leading of the Holy Spirit to direct our worship.
We believe: Worship of God should be inspirational.
Therefore: We give a great place to music in our worship.
We believe: Worship of God should be intelligent.
Therefore: Our Services are designed with great emphasis upon teaching the Word of God that He might instruct us how He would be worshipped.
We believe: Worship of God is fruitful.
Therefore: We look for His love in our lives as the supreme manifestation that we have truly been worshipping Him.
Isaiah: 65:25 "The wolf and the lamb shall feed together, and the lion shall eat straw like the bullock: and dust [shall be] the serpent's meat. They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain, saith the LORD."
Philippians 3:10 "That I may know Him, and the power of His resurrection, and the fellowship of His sufferings, being made conformable unto His death."
After Jesus ascended to Heaven, Jesus poured out His Holy Spirit on the believers in Jerusalem, enabling them to fulfill His command to preach the Gospel to the entire world, an obligation shared by all believers today. To learn more please look at the Statement of Faith.
Mark:16:15 "And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature."
Acts:1:8 "But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth."
Acts:1:9 "And when he had spoken these things, while they beheld, he was taken up; and a cloud received him out of their sight."
Psalm 51:17: "The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: A broken and a contrite heart, O God, You will not despise."
Psalm 103:4: "But there is forgiveness with You, That You may be feared."
It may happen sometime in our life that we hurt someone so deeply that it causes such anger that they reject us. Even to the point that when we come humbly with a broken and contrite heart asking for forgiveness; they cannot let go of the anger, and they cannot find it within their heart to forgive. When that happens, we feel even worse.
Not so with God! We can always come to Him and ask for forgiveness and receive it! He will never reject us; He will never leave us, nor forsake us! In fact, He calls out beckoning..."Come now, and let us reason together, says the LORD: Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red like crimson, they shall be as wool." Isaiah 1:18
